Maryland deputy AD Nathan Pine to become Holy Cross athletic director

Nathan Pine, a top University of Maryland administrator under athletic director Kevin Anderson, is leaving to become the athletic director at Holy Cross.

As deputy athletic director, Pine -- a longtime close associate of Anderson's -- supervised men’s basketball, men’s soccer, women’s soccer and baseball as well as marketing, media relations and other services. Pine, an Oregon State graduate, has been in his position since 2011.

Holy Cross, a Patriot League school, is announcing Pine's appointment today. He begins there on Feb. 1.
