Man shot in car in Gwynn Oak identified

Ryan Evans, 30, of Southern Cross Drive found inside crashed van with gunshot wounds

A man was shot and killed in Gwynn Oak just before 7 p.m. Monday, Baltimore County police said.

The victim was identified on Tuesday as Ryan Evans, 30, of the 3900 block of Southern Cross Drive.

Police found Evans behind the wheel of his Honda Odyssey, having crashed into a fence on Southern Cross Drive near his home. Medics started to treat him for injuries they thought he'd sustained in the crash when they realized he had gunshot wounds in his upper torso.

Evans died at the scene, police said, and homicide detectives are investigating. It's unclear where the shooting took place, police said.
