Tri-County Umpires Association will be holding classes for anyone interested in umpiring travel and high school baseball in Howard, Baltimore, Prince Georges and surrounding counties. Classes begin in January of 2014. Call 410-916-5655.

PBT Catonsville announces two new programs at its new location on Route 40 in Catonsville. The Pro Hitting HS clinic runs from 9-10 a.m. on Sundays, Dec. 8-Feb. 16. $40 per session. The Mass Repetitions HS clinic runs from 12-1 p.m. on Sundays, Dec. 8-Feb. 16. $35 per session. The Mass Repetitions MS clinic runs from 6-7 p.m. on Wednesdays, Dec. 11-Feb. 26. $35 per session. The ECPatriots are looking for players and coaches for the spring 8-on-8 indoor football season which runs eight weeks from mid-March to mid-June. Age groups available: 12U, 11U, 10U and 9U. Email or call 443-864-0028 for more information.


Registration for the Columbia Triathlon & Aquabike, and the Rocky Gap Triathlon & Aquabike opened on Thursday, Dec. 12 at 9 a.m. The Columbia Triathlon & Aquabike will be held Sunday, May 18 at Centennial Park, followed by the Rocky Gap Triathlon & Aquabike on Saturday, May 31 at Rocky Gap State Park in Flintstone, Md. Both events are run by TriColumbia.


Registration is now open for the Elkridge Youth Organization spring co-ed soccer program for ages 4 to 18 at Rockburn Park. There are no tryouts required and all participants get substantial playing time. Emphasis is on instruction, fitness and fun. Discounts run through Dec. 31 and registration ends on Feb. 28. Thunder QPR (U11 Boys, born on/after Aug 1, 2002) is looking for a couple hard-working players to add to its roster. QPR will play in the Baltimore Beltway Soccer League this spring, and trains in Columbia. Email for more information.


Athletic Performance Training is offering specialized training for youth ages 13 to 17. The program includes sports and athletic training, weight management, personal fitness, wellness and nutrition, and team building. The first clinic, Speed and Agility, runs eight weeks beginning Saturday, Jan. 18 from 7-9 p.m. at PowerUp Sports & Training in Laurel. At the clinic's completion, each trainee should have at least a 15 percent performance improvement in all measurable areas of speed and agility. The program will also feature celebrity guests, including former Redskins cornerback Byron Westbrook and former Kansas City Royals baseball player Gerard Hall Jr.
