A 35-year-old woman died after her Reisterstown home caught fire Sunday, Baltimore County officials said.

Kendra Michelle Rutherford was pronounced dead at the scene after firefighters pulled her from the home on the unit block of Fox Run Court, just west of Reisterstown Road.

Firefighters were called to the one alarm fire at 3:09 p.m. where smoke was inside.

A dog also died in the blaze.

Baltimore County Police fire investigators have not yet determined what caused the fire.

Rutherford's death is the eighth fire fatality in Baltimore County this year, which includes volunteer firefighter Gene Kirchner, who died after a Hanover Road house fire on April 24. There were seven fire fatalities in the county last year.

Baltimore City has had 19 fire deaths this year, up from 12 the previous year.
