Erik Krum (Salisbury) had a hat trick and Maverik United came from behind to beat Team STX, 13-12, in the LXM Pro Series at Heritage Park in the Las Vegas suburb of Henderson, Nev., on Saturday.

With the win, in one of the season's most exciting games, Maverik ended a three-game skid in the series to lessen the series deficit to 5-3.

Maverik led 6-5 at halftime, but STX scored five straight goals to take a 10-6 advantage. Led by fierce second-half defense from Hamilton Pollard, Jerry Lambe and Scott Bollert, Maverik answered with a six-goal run to seize a 12-10 lead, which it did not relinquish. Former Chesapeake Bayhawk Nick Tintle added a goal and two assists in the win; Billy Bitter scored a team-high four goals for Maverik.

STX's Sam Bradman (Salisbury) scored four goals, a team high, while Kyle Harrison (Friends, Johns Hopkins) had a goal and an assist. STX also got a pair of goals from Peter Baum and one from Max Ritz (Maryland).

Johnny Rodriguez (Mount St. Joseph, Salisbury) recorded 14 saves in the Maverik goal to earn the victory. Matt Russell (Navy) made 13 saves for STX.

The series will resume Saturday in Cocoa Beach, Fla., minutes south of Cape Canaveral on Florida's eastern coast. Watch the game live at
