Armed suspect attacked victim in Madison-Eastend alley, police say

Police are searching for a young man suspected of trying to sexually assault a 13-year-old girl in Baltimore's Madison-Eastend neighborhood.

The girl was walking with other teenagers in the 2700 block of E. Monument St. just after midnight Sunday morning when a young man approached and pulled a weapon, according to a police news release. She told police he forced her into an alley, where he attempted to rape her, the release said.

The victim was taken to a hospital where she was treated and released.

Police are asking anyone who may have information to call Child Abuse Detectives at 443-984-7378.

Several hours later in Baltimore's Ashburton neighborhood, police received a call for an assault in the 3600 block of Liberty Heights Ave.  Police got the call at 6:40 a.m., but when they arrived, the woman had already left for the hospital, according to a police news release.

The woman was in stable condition at a local hospital, police said. The incident remains under investigation, and anyone with information may call 410-396-2466.
