Authors & Artists holiday gift sale coming Saturday at Bel Air Armory

Meet more than 35 local writers and artists and shop for unique gifts on Saturday, Dec. 7, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the free "Authors & Artists Holiday Gift Sale." The event will be held at the Bel Air Armory at 41 N. Main St. in Bel Air.,

Shoppers will be able to choose artwork in all types of media, including oil paintings, ceramics, pottery, jewelry, photography, glass ornaments, prints, note cards, artisan gourds and hand sewn fabrics. Books will be available in various genres, including historical novels, suspense, genealogy, nature, fine photo journals and children's books as well as local poetry. It is sponsored by the Bel Air Cultural Arts Commission and the Bel Air Arts and Entertainment District.

Authors include Karin Harrison, Katherine Lashley, Amanda Kleback, Harford Writer's Group, Vonnie Winslow Crist, Becky Titelman, Mira Harlon, Patrick Spicer, Pat Valdata, Al Karasa, Stephanie Guzman, Dave Gigliotti, Jim Lockard, Joe Cassilly, Steve Odgen and Ellen Pons.

Artists include Alexandra Kopp, Robin Capecci, Barbara Love, Sandra Norris, Judy Cardwell, Jo Houtz, Carole Novak, Amelia Gossman, S. Baron, Virginia Cobler, John Sauers, Arts d'Tryon Studio, Laura Stafford, Patrick and Dee McGuire, Sarah Northwood, Penny Comeau, Nancy Inners, Doretha Smith, Hazel Harris, Bob Gizinski, William F. Turner and Laurie Walsh.

A variety of new artists and authors along with many longtime local favorites will be available to talk to customers and autograph their works. Throughout the day's schedule, shoppers will be entertained by classic music pianist Troy Lawson and cellist Megan Beichler and hear carols by the Bel Air Community Chorus. Local author Becky Titelman will read from her Wonky Witch series and the White Marsh Ballet Academy will perform on-stage.

Shoppers may treat themselves to sandwiches, salads and cookies prepared by Rouge Fine Catering. Free gift wrapping for items purchased in the Armory or from downtown shops will be provided by the Bel Air Downtown Alliance.
