Traffic: Accident on beltway at Harford Road

November 29, 2013|By Jim Joyner, The Baltimore Sun

As of 9 a.m., the Maryland Department of Transportation is reporting an accident in Baltimore County on the outer loop of the beltway at Harford Road. The incident reportedly involves three vehicles, and one travel lane is affected. MDOT cameras show emergency vehicles at the scene, and traffic is able to flow through two lanes. Use caution in this area as responders are on the scene.

Elsewhere, there are few incidents on Black Friday in the Baltimore area. Traffic is expected to be heavy around the malls this morning as shoppers head out for Black Friday, so expect some congestion in Towson, Columbia, Annapolis and other shopping districts.

However, MDOT cameras are showing very little congestion on the major arteries. The beltway, I-95, I-795, I-70 and the Baltimore Washington Parkway were all showing light volumes at 9 a.m.

The Maryland Transportation Authority is reporting that light rail, buses and trains are operating on time.
