A collision in Mount Airy left two men dead early Thursday, according to the Carroll County Sheriff's Office.

The victims were identified as Ricky Louis Wean, 25, of New Windsor, and Christopher Gerald Goldzwig, 23, of Keymar.

Shortly before 1 a.m., Wean was driving a Honda Prelude north on Buffalo Road just south of Old Bohn Road, according to a news release. Goldzwig was the passenger. Wean passed the vehicle in front of him on a double-yellow line, then lost control of the vehicle, which spun.

The Honda then crossed over the double-yellow line and was hit on the driver's side by a silver Dodge Ram traveling south, police said.

Both Wean and Goldzwig were pronounced dead on the scene.

The driver of the Dodge, 25-year-old Marcus Bryant, of Laytonsville, was taken to a hospital in Hagerstown with non-life-threatening injuries.

The collision remains under investigation. The sheriff's office is asking anyone who witnessed the crash to contact Cpl. Frederick Timms at 410-386-5900.
