Police identify victim in Southwest Baltimore slaying

37-year-old man died after he was found shot in the head

A 37-year-old man shot to death in Southwest Baltimore Saturday has been identified as Demetrius Beatty, city police said Sunday.

Police released no further information about the slaying, which they say occurred in the 4200 block Wooldridge Ave.

Officers responded about 2:45 p.m. to a report of gunshots at the intersection of Kevin Road and Cranston Avenue, where they found the victim with a gunshot would to his head. He was transported to an area hospital, where he died.

Homicide detectives were still investigating. Anyone with information was asked to call 410-396-2100.
