Two people were stabbed in Essex Thursday night as the result of an ongoing neighborhood dispute, a Baltimore County police spokeswoman said.

A man and woman were stabbed around 8:30 p.m. in the 1100 block of Glemsford Road and taken to a local hospital, said spokeswoman Cpl. Cathy Batton.

"Detectives learned this is part of an going neighborhood dispute between two different neighborhood groups," she said, but that the incident is not gang related.

She said the stabbing was targeted but not connected to robberies, and that the investigation is ongoing.

Police are still working to identify three male suspects, ages 18- and 19-years-old, she said. Batton would not identify the victims because the suspects have not been arrested.
