Two adults and an infant boy were shot and killed in an apparent murder-suicide in Frederick County late Wednesday night, according to the Frederick County Sheriff's Office.

A 5-year-old girl living in the New Market home, ran next door and alerted neighbors, who called 911, Capt. Tim Clarke said. Deputies who responded to the house found the two adults and the infant, who is estimated to be less than a year old, dead, he said.

Clarke said police believe the adults were the infant's parents.

The 5-year-old is fine, Clarke said, and the names of the victims have not yet been released, pending next-of-kin notification and the ongoing investigation.
