Four defensive starters not practicing Thursday for Ravens

Suggs also added to injury report as limited

The Ravens were without four defensive starters today as they practiced in preparation for Sunday's game against the Chicago Bears at Soldier Field.

Nose tackle Haloti Ngata (knee), middle linebacker Daryl Smith (hamstring) and cornerback Lardarius Webb (groin) all sat out practice for a second consecutive day. All three players were active in the Ravens' 20-17 overtime victory over the Cincinnati Bengals on Sunday.

Defensive end Chris Canty (knee) was the only new absence at practice for the Ravens. However, rush linebacker Terrell Suggs (neck) was added to the injury report as limited. He was involved in a collision at practice, according to a source.

Cornerback Jimmy Smith (groin) and safety James Ihedigbo (toe) were also limited. Running back Bernard Pierce (toe/knee) and wide receiver Brandon Stokley (thigh) practiced in full.

It's unclear if Ngata, Smith, Webb and Canty are in danger of missing Sunday's game. Webb and Canty both spoke to reporters earlier in the day about the challenge of facing the Bears, giving off no indication that they may not be able to play in the game.

For the Bears, tight end Martellus Bennett (ankle) was added to the injury report after sitting out practice today. Defensive linemen Shea McClellin (hamstring) and Jeremiah Ratliff (groin), and long snapper Patrick Mannelly (calf) also did not practice.

Starting offensive tackle Jordan Mills (quad) was limited. Bears quarterback Jay Cutler (ankle) and linebacker Lance Briggs (shoulder) have already been ruled out for the game.
