A Delaware man was killed and another man injured in a multi-vehicle crash on Interstate 95 near Aberdeen Wednesday morning, Maryland State Police said.

Police said Robert John Killian, 48, of Bear, was pronounced dead on the scene of the crash, which happened in the southbound lanes near exit 85 before 6 a.m. Lanes were blocked for about four hours.

Killian, who was driving a white Chevrolet Cavalier, drove onto the right shoulder and was struck by another car as he attempted to get back into the lane, police said. A chain reaction involving another car and a freightliner ensued and the Cavalier was struck from behind by a Mack tractor-trailer. Another driver, John Riddle, 48, was taken to Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries.

The two commercial vehicle drivers were uninjured, police said.
