Two University of Maryland students were attacked and robbed in College Park by a group of people early Saturday morning, according to campus police.

The male students were walking on a footpath behind the University View Apartments on Baltimore Avenue at around 3:15 a.m. when a group of between 8 and 10 men approached them, beat them up and robbed them, according to police.

The group, which did not use any weapons, ran away and one of the students was treated in the hospital for his injuries, police said.
