Maryland senior Alyssa Thomas was named to the Associated Press' Preseason All-America Team on Tuesday.

The 6-foot-2 forward was named an AP All-American after each of the past two seasons and was also a preseason All-American last year.

She's joined on this year's list by Stanford's Chiney Ogwumike, Baylor's Odyssey Sims and Connecticut's Kaleena Mosqueda-Lewis and Breanna Stewart (Connecticut).

Thomas was voted the ACC's Preseason Player of the Year last month. She led the conference last season in scoring (18 points per game), rebounding (10.3 per game) and assists (5.3 per game).

Thomas ranks sixth on Maryland’s all-time scoring list and needs 557 points to surpass Crystal Langhorne’s record of 2,247.

The Terps open the season Friday at South Florida as the No. 8 team in the AP's preseason poll.
