November 04, 2013|By Scott Dance, The Baltimore Sun

A chilly day is forecast in the Baltimore area Monday, with temperatures starting around freezing and topping out around 50 degrees.

Sunny skies are expected for most of the day, with clouds moving in over the late afternoon and evening hours.

A freeze warning was in effect for Cecil, Kent, Queen Anne's and Talbot counties on the upper Eastern Shore, with temperatures expected to dip below 32 degrees about 3 a.m. and not rising above it again until after sunrise. Sensitive plants and crops could be killed if left uncovered.

Temperatures are forecast to bounce back over the rest of the week. Highs are forecast in the upper 50s on Tuesday, and the upper 60s Wednesday and Thursday.

Showers are likely Thursday before cooler temperatures return Friday.
