Camp Letts

Edgewater camp needs volunteers for ongoing upkeep of grounds, trail clearing and general office support at the Retreat Center and office. Information: 410-919-1411 or campletts,org.

Eastport Girls Club

The club seeks high school seniors and/or adult volunteers to serve as tutors to club participants in grades five to nine from 3:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. Tuesdays. Training will be provided, and a background check is required. Information or to schedule an interview: 410-919-3347.

Hearts & Homes for Youth

Organization that helps troubled children and youth who are abused, neglected or runaways need volunteers older than 18 for tutoring, mentoring, internships, renovation projects, recreation sponsors, office assistance, and beautification projects.  Information: 301-589-8444, ext.212 or hh4y.org.

International Environmental Data Rescue Organization

Nonprofit whose mission is to locate, rescue and digitize every piece of historic environmental data before it is lost forever needs a volunteer part-time office manager, writers, programmers, grant writers, translators, newsletter deputy editor, presenters/lecturers, meteorologists, hydrologists, climatologists, earth scientists, teachers/educators, PowerPoint experts, those who are familiar with twitter, Facebook, blogs and other communication devices and systems. The Sharing Foundation

Serving People Across Neighborhoods

SPAN works in cooperation with area churches to help people in the community in need of crisis assistance because of evictions, utility turn-off notices, emergency medical or prescription needs, food pantry or other services. Volunteers are needed to staff the office, work in the food pantry Monday and Wednesday mornings, and donate food and other items for the pantry. Information: 410-647-0889 or spanhelps.org.

Maryland State Archives

Volunteers are needed for document preparation of wills and probate records for digitization between 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. weekdays in four-hour shifts. Scheduling is flexible, and duties include removing fasteners and flattening and organizing documents for scanning. Information: 301-572-4105.
