A Linthicum man and two juveniles were arrested Sunday, authorities said, after police searched a car and found 70 boxes of ammunition belonging to the U.S. Air Marshals.
At 1:49 a.m., a patrol officer on Hammonds Lane saw a black Chevy strike a curb, drive down Robinwood Road and park on Cresswell Road, Anne Arundel County police reported. As the vehicle sat with its lights off, the officer approached the driver, who said he was checking for damage, police said.
The boxes of ammunition, of a type authorized for law-enforcement use only, were inside the car and in plain view; none of the suspects could provide a "verifiable" reason why it should be in their possession, police said. After the driver gave permission for a search of the car, police reported that bolt cutters, flashlights, latex gloves and various auto parts were found.
