Teen pedestrian struck in Catonsville dies

A 17-year-old girl died after she was struck by a car on Route 40 in Catonsville Sunday night, Baltimore County police said.

Sahara Malishan, of the 900 block of Wildwood Parkway in Baltimore was hit by a Mazda 6 headed east on the 6400 block of Baltimore National Pike just before 10:30 p.m.

Malishan was taken to Maryland Shock Trauma Center, where she was pronounced dead.

The driver, a 62-year-old man, remained at the scene, police said. No citations have been issued and the crash remains under investigation.
