September 15, 2013

A motorcycle rider was taken to Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center in Baltimore Sunday night after he was injured in a crash with a car at the intersection of the Bel Air Bypass and Conowingo Road in Bel Air.

Rich Gardiner, spokesman for the Harford County Volunteer Fire and EMS Association, said the victim, who was in serious condition, was taken to the hospital by a Bel Air Volunteer Fire Company medic unit.

Gardiner said first responders were alerted at 7:53 p.m. Sunday.

Tpr. Whittenberg of the Bel Air Barrack of the Maryland State Police said the adult male motorcycle rider was heading east on Conowingo on his Harley-Davidson.

He collided with a Cadillac Escalade that was turning south on the Bel Air Bypass, Whittenberg said.

The trooper said the woman driving the Escalade was not injured; her daughter, who was riding in the vehicle with her, was also not injured.

State Police officials are still investigating the crash, and charges are pending, Whittenberg said.
