September 05, 2013

Maryland State Police say a partially decomposed body was found early Thursday in a wooded area in northern Carroll County, and police are investigating to determine the cause of death.

Police said investigators from the Carroll County Sheriff's Office came across the body in the 300 block of Kirkhoff Road, Westminster, north of Union Mills, and state and county investigators are working together on the case. The body, described only as a white male, has been transported to the Office of the State Medical Examiner for identification and an autopsy.

Police said identification is not expected until after the autopsy is complete.
