Anne Arundel County Police are investigating the second assault to occur at a shopping mall in two days.

In the most recent case, police were called to the Westfield Annapolis Mall Monday night to investigate a possible stabbing that occurred inside one of the stores, according to Anne Arundel County Police Dept. Lt. T.J. Smith.

Police said several people were having a verbal dispute in the American Apparel store when a member of the group used a sharp instrument to strike a 21-year-old female victim in the back. The injury was described by police as "a superficial puncture" and the victim refused treatment.

Police arrested Octavia Patricia Williams, 26, of Landover, and charged her with first and second-degree assault.

The attack occurred two days after a teen at the Arundel Mills Mall in Hanover was surrounded by six youths, beaten and robbed. The teen suffered minor injuries to his face. Three of the six boys were arrested a short time later and were charged as juveniles with robbery, assault and theft of less than $1,000.
