A 22-year-old man was arrested in Baltimore Wednesday in the death of Donte A. Stephens, who was found dead inside an overturned vehicle last week in Rodgers Forge.

Baltimore County police said they will not identify the suspect until he has formally been charged.

According to a police statement, Stephens lived with his girlfriend and her daughter on Murdock Road where he was killed. Police said the suspect is an acquaintance of the daughter, and that Stephens and the suspect got into an argument days before the shooting, police said.

Police are still working to determine the exact motive, but said there are no known gang connections to the shooting.

Officers were called at about 5:30 a.m. on July 17 to Murdock Road and Blenheim Road for a report of shots fired. They found the Stephens down the street where his vehicle had crashed, damaging several other parked vehicles.
