July 23, 2013

Indulge in a cupcake, pamper yourself, wine and dine, shop a little, capture the moment on film or get active. No matter your preference, Flavor Cupcakery presents "It's a Flavorful Life," a week-long event, wrapping up Saturday, designed to encourage sweet indulgence by bringing special deals to customers through the collaboration of Harford County small businesses.

Shelley Stannard, owner of Flavor Cupcakery, champions the extra touch small business brings to its customers by collaborating with other local business owners to encourage a spirit of trying new "flavors" in life with exclusive deals and giveaways – for one week only – providing customers an opening to try a variety of services focused on mind, body and spirit.

It's a Flavorful Life" began Monday and will wrap up Saturday with deals and discounts across Bel Air. A portion of the proceeds from the week will be donated to benefit wounded veterans.

"Rooted in giving back to those who give so much to us, this week brings small businesses together to benefit the community-at-large for a greater purpose. Just because it's summer and we're busy with vacationing and to-do lists we shouldn't forget the spirit of giving back and supporting each other. That's exactly what Flavor Cupcakery is doing through 'It's a Flavorful Life,'" organizers said.

The businesses participating with Flavor Cupcakery include Maryland Golf and County Clubs, with a raffle for a one-day pool pass for a family of up to four; Jordan Thomas Salon and Spa, buy one product, get the second 50 percent off; Tiger Lily, buy two fair trade bracelets, get one free; Charm City Run, $10 off $20 or more; Pairings Bistro, a complementary wine pairing with select menu items; and DeVoe Creative, a free set of printed holiday cards with a booked photography session.

Flavor Cupcakery's exclusive offers a free half dozen cupcake gift card to every 25th customer the rest of the week; 10 percent off to any customer who is wearing holiday "flair," a "guess the number of peppermints" contest, with the winner getting a themed cupcake display (to be redeemed at a later date); and "Sweet Shoppe" flavors all week, including Twix, Ferrero Rocher, Milky Way, peppermint mocha, chocolate peppermint, Take 5, Swedish Fish and M&M.
