July 20, 2013

The National Weather Service issued a flash flood warning for parts of the Baltimore region Saturday night.

Residents should expect heavy rain capable of producing flash floods, the weather service said, noting that more than an inch of rain had already fallen in the city and areas just outside, including Catonsville and Rosedale.

Forecasters said up to 2 inches of additional rainfall is expected. The flash flood warning lasts until 12:15 a.m. and includes the city and southern Baltimore County.

In Howard County, a flash flood warning was issued until midnight. The weather service said more than 2 inches of rain could be expected over a widespread area that includes Ellicott City.
