A man was found dead near a Royal Farms parking lot in Catonsville Wednesday, Baltimore County police said.

Eliyahu N. Goode, 25, of the 2500 block of Summerson Road in Baltimore was found near the convenience store on Edmonson Avenue after a woman driving by called police. Previously, Goode had briefly escaped from Spring Grove Hospital Center in 2012.

Police spokeswoman Elise Armacost said the county's homicide unit is not involved with the death. The body has been taken to the medical examiner's office.

Officers found Goode shortly after 6:30 a.m. He appeared to have been dead for several hours, police said. Store employees told officers he came into the store the night before and appeared ill.

State police were searching for Goode back on May 24, 2012 after he escaped from the psychiatric facility. He was charged with robbery, second-degree assault and related charges in October 2011, but was considered incompetent to stand trial, according to online court records.

The case was reopened in October 2012, and most of the charges were dropped, except for the assault charge, but Goode was found not criminally responsible, court records show.
