Woman's Club appreciated honor of being named July 4 parade grand marshals [Letter]

Letter to the editor

July 17, 2013

What a great honor for the Woman's Club of Catonsville to be chosen as the grand marshals of this year's Fourth of July Parade.

It was so exciting to ride through our beloved Catonsville, seeing the enthusiasm and patriotism of all those along the route.

Although it was sad to end our club after 80 years, we feel encouraged that the donation of our clubhouse to the Catonsville Community Foundation will ensure that the community will benefit for many years to come.

We would like to thank all of those who made this such a memorable experience, especially Maureen Sweeney Smith, executive director of CCF; Craig Witzke, who provided our float; and WCC member Tina Pritchard and husband, Jim, who provided the truck to pull it.

The following anonymous quote sums up our feelings well:

"The best things in life are:

The people we love,

The places we've been,

And the memories we've made along the way."

Anne Kaufman, president, 2010-2012
