A 66-year-old man was stabbed in the arm at his home in Brooklyn Park on Wednesday night after another man who knocked on his door attempted to force his way inside, according to Anne Arundel County Police.

Officers responded to a report of a stabbing at the home in the 5600 block of Patrick Henry Drive about 10:05 p.m. and found the victim with a stab wound to the arm, police said.

The man, who was not identified, told police he was stabbed after answering a knock at his door and then struggling with a man attempting to enter, police said. The alleged intruder then fled on foot, police said.

The victim was transported to Baltimore Washington Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries, police said.

Police said it is "unknown if this was a random or targeted incident."
