Plan for Symphony Woods Park needs to be reinstated [Letter]

June 26, 2013

Thank you for spotlighting the success of Centennial Park in your last issue. It comes as no surprise to those of us in the community who are following this matter closely that the same team of dedicated, community-oriented planners and designers who created Centennial Park also designed Symphony Woods Park for CA.

Unfortunately, the CA Board has seen fit to toss aside their plan in favor of leaving the woods almost barren of family-friendly uses. Instead, they have focused on a commercial entertainment complex designed by someone who believes that he is a "systems Integrator of entertainment business parameters" who works at the "profitable confluence of entertainment and information, shaping our purview of Enriched Reality (SM) places ... acting as a SWAT team, a surrogate entertainment developer."

The community needs to insist that CA builds a real park, not a set of entertainment business parameters! Let your CA representative know you want the plan for Symphony Woods Park to be reinstated.
