Anne Arundel County fire officials say an afternoon fire in Davidsonville on Monday caused an estimated $15,000 in damage to a single family dwelling.

Fire officials responded at about 2 p.m. to the 700 block of Appomattox Road West in Davidsonville, and saw fire from the two-story house. It took about 30 minutes to bring it under control, officials said. The cause is thought to have been unattended cooking, and smoke detectors were found to be inoperable, according to county fire officials.

There were no injuries reported. The occupant is being assisted by the Red Cross, officials said.
