Glenelg Country School named Paul Weir as its new athletic director Wednesday.

Weir has been the associate athletic director at the school for the past three years, and he also served as the certified athletic trainer at Glenelg Country for the past 15 years, according to a news release.

"Paul's appointment as athletic director was an easy choice -- he is a Dragon through and through, a parent of two GCS students, understands the goals of our program, knows our athletes and their families,” Glenelg Country Head of School Greg Ventre said in the release.

Weir also was the director of summer programs at Glenelg Country, and he previously worked at The Bullis School. He is a graduate of Maryland with a degree in kinesiology, and he has a master of the art's degree from Towson in education leadership.
