Paving project starting Monday will close lanes in Taneytown

Work will be done weekdays, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., through May

April 21, 2013

The State Highway Administration is warning motorists to expect lane closures on Md. Route 194 (Frederick Street/York Street) in Taneytown beginning Monday as crews patch and resurface the one mile of Route 194 in the city limits.

Lane closures will occur between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m., Monday through Friday. SHA will use flagging crews, signs, cones and barrels to guide motorists through the work zone.

The project will begin Monday and will be complete in late May, weather permitting.

The paving follows the city's recent replacement of a waterline under the roadway as well as other streetscape improvements completed in Taneytown over the past few years including curb, sidewalk, drainage, lighting and landscaping improvements.

Anyone with questions about the project may call the SHA's district office at 301-624-8100 or toll-free at 800-635-5119, or by email at
