Jordan Cargile worked both sides of the ball as No. 1 Eastern Tech shut out Owings Mills, 16-0, in softball Thursday.

Cargile pitched a one-hitter, striking out seven, for the host Mavericks (11-0) and went 3-for-4 with a double, a home run and four RBIs. The Eagles fell to 1-6.

No. 5 Mount de Sales 10, John Carroll 0: Ashley Lesniewski (12-2) got her eighth shutout of the season for the host Sailors (12-2, 11-0 Intercollegiate Athletic Association of Maryland A Conference).


Annapolis Area Christian School 9, Friendship Charter (D.C.) 0: Right-hander Nick Watkins (1-1) struck out 18 as the host Eagles (7-6) shut out the Knights.

Girls lacrosse

No. 2 C. Milton Wright 16, North East 2: Maggie Gallagher scored a game-high five goals to power the visiting Mustangs (7-0) past the Indians (0-3).

No. 3 Century 15, South Carroll 2: Hannah Warther had six goals and Haley Bornder had two goals and three assists to lead the host Knights (9-1) past the Cavaliers (0-8).

No. 5 Bryn Mawr 8, Roland Park 6: Kate Snouffer scored a game-high five goals to power the host Mawrtians (7-4) past the Reds (3-8).

No. 7 St. Paul's 15, Garrison Forest 7: Paige Aldave, Samantha Fine, Amanda Sutor and Shelby Wells scored three goals each as the host Gators (7-3, 7-2 IAAM AConference) defeated the Grizzlies (3-8, 0-8).

John Carroll 13, No. 8 Severn 7: Caroline Haggerty had a hat trick as the visiting Patriots upset the Admirals (9-3).

No. 10 Mount de Sales 19, St.Mary's 17, OT: The host Sailors (8-3, 5-4 IAAM A Conference) outscored the Saints (1-8, 1-8) by a score of 4-2 in the extra period.

Tara Siefert led St. Mary's with six goals.

No. 11 Archbishop Spalding 12, Notre Dame Prep 9: The visiting Cavaliers (7-6, 3-5 IAAM A Conference) fell behind in the first half but tightened their defense in the second half to win.

Maggie Kaulius scored four goals to power Spalding's offense.

Fallston 8, Bel Air 7: The host Cougars (2-4) scored three goals in the final 21/2 minutes, capped by Lindsay Summers' game-winner with eight seconds left, to beat the Bobcats (2-2).
