Newspaper delivery person robbed at gun point in Columbia [Crime Log]

The following is compiled from police reports. 

East Columbia

Old Waterloo Road, 6800 block, 6:32 a.m. April 14. Newspaper delivery person was approached by two men while sitting in parked car on side of road. One took out handgun and demanded delivery person's wallet, cash and watch. Second man stood by and did not say anything. Men fled behind Deep Run Elementary School.

Early April Way and Skyrocket Court, 8:26 p.m. April 11. Victim was approached by two acquaintances who demanded money and cellphone. Victim refused and began to walk away, at which time one man assaulted him. Victim threw contents of his pockets onto pavement. Suspects took victim's cellphone and cash. No serious injuries.

Gerwig Lane, 9400 block, 10:15 a.m. April 11. Officers responding to call for burglary located man walking along Gerwig Lane toward Guilford Road. Rowan Yunk Allis, 25, no fixed address was arrested.

Flowerstock Row, 8800 block, 11:02 p.m. April 10. Man drove male acquaintances to gas station, where they exited car and spoke with occupants of another car. Occupants of second car exited and assaulted driver of first car. Cellphone, wallet, cash and keys stolen.

West Columbia

Blue Heron Lane, 5400 block, 12:33 a.m. April 14. Man was walking when approached by 10 subjects, one of whom threatened man with Taser. As subject with Taser attempted to take man's cellphone, struggle ensued, resulting in minor injuries to man. Subjects fled on foot. Police detained 14-year-old male not far from scene who was hiding behind car. In same area, police found pink Taser in black case. Police would not release name of 14-year-old charged with attempted robbery.

Columbia Road and Little Patuxent Parkway, 1:31 a.m. April 13. Two men assaulted juvenile male and stole cellphone. Victim was transported to Howard County General Hospital for medical attention.

Little Patuxent Parkway, 10300 block, 8:51 p.m. April 12. Man got off bus near Central Branch Library with acquaintance. As they were exiting bus, acquaintance punched victim in head, causing large laceration, and demanded money. Victim refused to surrender property and left on foot.

Old Tucker Row, 5300 block, 8:29 p.m. April 10. Man and male friend arranged to meet acquaintance. When they arrived at meeting location, four men met them in parking lot. Man got into back seat behind driver, demanded cash and grabbed driver from behind. After struggle, men fled.
