The seventh annual Emily Schindler Memorial Triathlon will be held Saturday, April 20, at the Community Center in Severna Park. The 800-yard swim, 9.5-mile bike ride and 3-mile run will be held at the SPY Aquatics Center, 623 Baltimore/Annapolis Blvd. and the Baltimore/Annapolis Trail. Participants can also sign up for the Flamingo Feat distance, consisting of a 1,600-yard swim, 18-mile bike and 6-mile run. Check-in begins at 6 a.m. and the first wave of swimmers will hit the pool at 7 a.m. Cost is $50 for individuals, $90 for a relay team of two and $135 for a three-person relay team. The event is a benefit for the Emily Schindler Memorial Scholarship fund, which was established in 2004 after Emily Schindler's death in a car accident. The scholarship is awarded annually to selected graduating seniors on the SPY swim team who most exemplify Emily's qualities.

Dinner and auction

Annapolis Area Christian School will hold its 10th annual dinner and auction, "Viva AACS," at 6 p.m. Saturday, April 20, at the Kilby Athletic Center, 109 Burns Crossing Road in Severn. The event supports a new library at the lower school, a new sound system at the middle school, a new college and career planning program with SAT preparation for the upper school and a new design lab for students to gain experience while creating marketing materials for the school.

Those attending may bid on student artwork, eight seats in a suite at FedEx Field for a Redskins-Giants game, a ride in a vintage plane, 10 days in a Montana mountain vacation home, a hot-air balloon ride for two, chartered fishing trip, four tickets to a Ravens game of choice, a handmade quilt and more. Colonial Players' '1776'

'The Underpants'

Anne Arundel Community College's production of Carl Sternheim's comedy — about the calamities that occur when a woman's bloomers accidentally fall down when she waves at the king — runs through Saturday, April 20, in the Robert E. Family event

The Friends of Broadneck Park will host their second annual kite festival and community picnic from noon to 4 p.m. Sunday, April 21, on the A Field at Broadneck Park on College Parkway in Annapolis. The Historic Annapolis St. Clair Wright Lecture Series features an illustrated talk by Harvard professor and Civil War scholar John Stauffer at 6 p.m. Sunday, April 21 at First Presbyterian Church, 171 Duke of Gloucester St. in Annapolis.
