Journey to the stars

North Carroll Library, 2255 Hanover Pike, Greenmount, presents the Westminster Astronomical Society's observatory director, Skip Bird, discussing ways to leave the planet and journey to the stars — through a telescope. Strawbridge home

The Historical Society of Carroll County will host a Box Lunch Talk: "The Strawbridge Home," April 9, at the American Legion, Westminster, from noon to 1 p.m. Beverage and dessert provided. Admission is $2 for members; $5 for nonmembers.

Charlotte's Quest Nature Center, 3400 Wilhelm Lane, Manchester, will host three programs April 12. At 3 p.m., children ages 9 and up will have an outdoor classroom session, $2 for members; $3 for nonmembers.
