Spring roundup: Loyola runs past St. Joe's Prep in lacrosse

Villanova-bound Devin McNamara scored all four of his goals during a 10-0 run to power the No. 6 Loyola boys lacrosse team past visiting St. Joseph's Prep (Pa.), 13-5, on Saturday.

The Hawks (2-1) took an early lead, winning the first four faceoffs and enjoying success attacking the weak side of the goal. St. Joseph's led 3-2 before Loyola's Kevin Jackson (four goals) and Ryan Conrad (two goals) started the run with two unassisted goals with 2:13 and 7.7 seconds left in the first quarter.

The Dons (4-2) scored seven straight in the second quarter and Jackson's fourth goal, on an assist from McNamara, with 9:24 left in the third quarter, ended the run.

No. 8 Hereford 12, Fallston 4: Joe Seider had a hat trick for the Bulls (6-1) in the championship game of the Fred Sheckells Tournament at Fallston.

Old Mill wins two: The Patriots beat Patuxent, 11-0, and host Broadneck, 5-0, at the Broadneck Tournament.

Against the Panthers, winner Abel Arocho (1-0) threw a five-inning no-hitter with three strikeouts. Against the host Bruins, Arocho had a double and an RBI.


No. 3 Eastern Tech 7, No. 7 C.Milton Wright 2: Winner Jordan Cargile struck out seven in five innings and went 4-for-4 with three RBIs to power the host Mavericks (5-0) past the Mustangs (3-1) at the Franklin Invitational.

Cargile struck out six in a 5-1 decision over Chopticon.
