York Road is looking up

March 28, 2013

Hooray for the scores of newly planted trees on public and private property up and down a heavily traveled section of York Road in northern Baltimore City.

Along with the trees, I've noticed handsome street lights and benches, esplanades with shrubbery and redone sidewalks with bump-outs, so people using wheel chairs and motorized scooters aren't forced into the street.

York Road Partnership and its allies have banished the air of government neglect that long characterized many of these blocks. On behalf of York Road's neighborhoods and its users, thank you, thank you, thank you.
