St. Mary's advances in D-III tournament by routing Morrisville St.

Bowie State ran into the top-scoring men's basketball team in the country as host West Liberty of West Virginia won, 114-82, in the first round of the Atlantic Regional of the NCAA Division II tournament on Saturday night.

Bryon Westmorland (Mervo) scored a team-high 18 points and Najee White added 13 points for the Bulldogs (16-14).

The Hilltoppers (31-1), who average about 106 points a game, shot 66.7percent from the field and took a 66-41 lead at halftime.

St. Mary's 84, Morrisville State 66: Donn Hill (Bel Air) led five players in double figures with 17 points as the host Seahawks (26-3) beat the Mustangs (23-5) in the Sweet 16 of the NCAA Division III tournament.

The other double-digit scorers for St. Mary's were James Davenport (Loyola) with 15, Nick Laguerre (Lansdowne) with 14, Jeff Haus with 13 and Brendan McFall with 11 points.

St. Mary's led 35-27 at halftime.

The Seahawks advance to face Mary Hardin-Baylor in Friday's quarterfinal.
