Robber steals cash, Chinese food at gunpoint [Crime Log]

The following is compiled from police reports from the Towson and Cockeysville precincts. Our policy is to include descriptions when there is enough information to make identification possible.

A food delivery driver was robbed at gunpoint as he tried to deliver Chinese food at about 11 p.m. on March 5 near the 400 block of Schwartz Avenue, in Towson, police report. The robber stole cash and the Chinese food and fled.


Ensor Avenue, unit block, on March 9. Man's car towed for illegal parking. Two men went to Pollard's Towing, drove into gate. Owner of towed car hopped fence, tried to drive away. Police arrived, and man struck air conditioner at Richard's Auto Body next door while fleeing. John Kevin James, 22, of the 100 block of Chapletowne Circle in Perry Hall, and Devin Maurice Johnson, 21, of the 4200 block of Mispillion Road in Nottingham, arrested and charged with fourth-degree burglary.

Hopkins Road, 100 block, between 8 a.m. and 7 p.m. March 8. Black Acer laptop stolen after basement window broken to gain entry.

Overbrook Road, 300 block, between 12 p.m. and 12:16 p.m. March 7. Two teenage boys attempted to steal bicycle from backyard. Fled when spotted by neighbor. Two boys later seen breaking into garage on Hopkins Road. Two boys apprehended by police at the Towson Library.

Halstead Road, 1300 block, between 10:30 p.m. March 6 and 12:38 p.m. March 7. Green 2003 Kia Sedona stolen.

Pleasant Plains Road, 8100 block, at 3:02 p.m. March 5. Woman spotted teenaged boy trying to steal bike in backyard. Boy then fled scene.

Loch Raven Boulevard, 8100 block, between 5 p.m. March 5 and 12:30 a.m. March 6. Two laptop computers, four pairs of boots, two winter jackets, sweater stolen from home. First-floor windows were unlocked.

Midhurst Road, 200 block, between 12 p.m. March 2 and 2 p.m March 4. Jewelry stolen from bedroom of home after front door kicked in to gain entry.

Taylor Avenue, 1600 block, between 3 p.m. March 1 and 6:50 a.m. March 4. Attempt made to steal fuel from tanks at Moreland Memorial Park Cemetery.


York Road, 1900 block, between 3 p.m. March 9 and 9 a.m. March 10. Cash stolen from desk drawer at Invisible Fence Co.

Glenamoy Road, unit block, between 5:30 p.m. March 9 and 1:50 a.m. March 10. Computers, jewelry stolen from bedroom after entry gained through sliding doors.

Meredith Road, 2300 block, between 12:01 a.m. March 5 and 8:40 a.m. March 5. Garage door pried open. No items taken.


Fila Road, unit block, between 11 p.m. March 5 and 10 a.m. March 6. Cash, a safe, television and laptop stolen from Serpico Pizza after unlocked service door entered and then interior door broken to gain entry.

Valley Lake Place, unit block, between 2:50 p.m. and 3 p.m. Feb. 28. Two juvenile males forced way into apartment, assaulted teen while other recorded footage on cell phone. Boys urinated in football cleats, stole fruit punch from refrigerator.
