The junior forward led the No. 4 Millers (24-2) to the Class 3A North regional championship last week, playing a pivotal role in the team's 64-50 semifinal win over Patterson on Tuesday before Friday's 70-65 victory against City in the title game. Costley scored 25 points against Patterson, including 13-for-13 from the free-throw line, and he also had seven rebounds. In Friday's win against City, he stepped up when it was needed most to pull away in the closing minute. With the game tied at 65, his layup with 37 seconds left gave the Millers the lead for good, and he added another basket in the closing seconds on a goaltending call. He finished the game with 19 points and 11 rebounds and also had a momentum-changing dunk with 3:13 to play. Costley, who transferred from St. Frances, is averaging 14.3 points and 10 rebounds per game this season. The Millers will take on Urbana in a Class 3A state semifinal at 3 p.m. Thursday at the University of Maryland's Comcast Center.
