Virginia motorcyclist killed in Anne Arundel crash

March 10, 2013|By Carrie Wells, The Baltimore Sun

A Virginia man riding a motorcycle was killed after being struck by a car in Anne Arundel County on Sunday afternoon, police said.

Police identified the man who was killed as Jonathan Wesley Roberts, 30, of Aylett, Va. Police say he was struck by a Chevy Cobalt driven by Elizabeth H. Meyers, 19, of Severn, about 1:40 p.m.

The Cobalt was crossing Crain Highway to enter the parking lot of the Royal Farms near Carver Road in Crofton, police said, when it hit the motorcycle in the far left lane. Meyers had minor injuries.

Police are investigating but said speed and alcohol do not appear to be factors in the crash.
