The Ravens ran this ad ran in the Times Picayune to thank New Orleans…

A month after beating the San Francisco 49ers in the Super Bowl in New Orleans, the Ravens thanked the host city Wednesday by taking an ad out in The New Orleans Times-Picayune and donating a gift to the city.

Subscribers of The Times-Picayune were greeted Wednesday morning with a thank-you note that read: “Thank you to the citizens of New Orleans, including your outstanding police department, for your warm reception and first-class service to Ravens players, coaches and fans.” It was signed by the world champions, of course.

Later Wednesday morning, the team announced in New Orleans that it would donate two 2013 Harley Davidson FLHP motorcycles to the New Orleans Police Department Traffic Division. It was a thoughtful gesture considering that the New Orleans Police Department escorted the Ravens around the city all week.

“We wanted to do something to show our appreciation for how well our team, our families and our fans were treated by everyone representing New Orleans,” Ravens owner Steve Bisciotti said in a statement. “Every place we went, the good people of New Orleans treated us with kindness and tremendous service -- across the board. It started in our team hotel, continued with the police and included many in the hospitality industry. The people of New Orleans were great.”

At a news conference in New Orleans, wide receiver Jacoby Jones, a Louisiana native, presented the gift on behalf of the organization to New Orleans mayor Mitch Landrieu and police superintendent Ronal Serpas.

“I always talk to my teammates about southern hospitality, and the fact that it was on display enough during our Super Bowl week to have the Ravens donate something to the great people of New Orleans is special,” Jones said.

It was special indeed, another example of how the Ravens are one of the classiest organizations in the NFL.
