Colonial Players auditions

The Colonial Players will hold auditions Sunday and Monday, March 3 and 4, for all roles in its May production of "In the Next Room, or The Vibrator Play." Library meetings

Anne Arundel County Public Library will hold four town hall-style meetings as the library system seeks support for its top funding priorities of upgrading technology, expanding hours and building new regional facilities for the North County and Annapolis areas.

Dates and locations are:

•Thursday, March 7,  Maryland City at Russett branch, 3501 Russett Common in Laurel.

Book signing, reception

"Passing Through Shady Side" by resident Ann Widdifield highlights the lives and experiences of several generations of African-American families who have lived on the Shady Side peninsula during the past 150 years. A book signing and reception will be held Saturday, March 9, at St. Matthews United Methodist Church, 6234 Shady Side Road. Event begins at 2 p.m. with a presentation in the sanctuary, followed by the book signing and reception at 2:30 p.m. For more information, go to

Theater production

Archbishop Spalding High School's theater department presents "How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying" through Saturday, March 9, at 8080 New Cut Road in Severn. 'In the Heat of the Night'

Bowie Community Theatre presents a play based on John Ball's Oscar-winning film and the Emmy-winning television series of the same name, March 15-30 at the Bowie Playhouse, 16500 White Marsh Park Drive. Jewelry show

The Partners In Care Boutique will hold its 11th annual Jewelry Extravaganza from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. March 23 at the Upscale, Resale Boutique, 6 S. Ritchie Highway in Pasadena. Family fun at the stadium

The Bowie Baysox will hold their 14th annual Family FunFest at Prince George's Stadium from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. March 23. The event takes place rain or shine and features free rides and games in Louie's Kids Park, music and games on the concourse and displays from local businesses and organizations. Single-game tickets for the coming Baysox season go on sale for the first time and the box office will be open all day. Season-ticket holders can pick up their ticket plans at the event and are invited to an exclusive luncheon in the Diamond View Restaurant. Information:

Bus trip

The Retired Officers' Wives Club of Fort George G. Meade is sponsoring a bus trip on April 16 to the Sight and Sound Theater in Pennsylvania to see a presentation of "Noah." $100 per person covers the cost of the bus, a smorgasbord lunch at Hershey Farms Restaurant, and a ticket to the show. Bus will leave Ridgeview Plaza on Route 175 and Rochenbach Avenue at 8:30 a.m. and returns at approximately 5:30 p.m. Lunch is at 11 a.m. and show starts at 1 p.m. For reservations and more information, call 410-465-0492.

Visitors guide

The 2013 Visitors Guide by the Annapolis and Anne Arundel County Conference and Visitors Bureau is now available. The 72-page, full-color guide contains information on things to do and see, events, dining, night life, accommodations, shopping and more. The Visitors Center is located at 26 West St. in Annapolis and is open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily.
