Columbia student Benjamin Jarvis, a senior majoring in engineering, earned dean's list status at Messiah College, in Grantham, Pa., for the fall term.

Washington College, in Chestertown, announced that Rachel Thompson achieved dean's list recognition for the spring semester. Pamela Jones, of Columbia, is her mother.

Samantha Hansen was named a Dimmitt Scholar at Morningside College, in Sioux City, Iowa, in recognition of achievements during the 2011-12 academic year. The daughter of Fred Hansen, of Columbia, and Laurie Hansen, of Minneapolis, Minn., she majors in English and photography.

Providence College honored Adam Comeaux, of Columbia, with dean's list recognition for the fall term.

Columbia student Leah Pekofsky, a senior public relations major, merited dean's list ranking for the fall semester at York College of Pennsylvania.

Scott Alpizar, of Columbia, was named to the fall dean's list at the University of New Haven, Conn.

Frostburg State University announced the inclusion of these Columbia students on the dean's list for the spring term:

Kristin Crow; Jamie Frank; Lindsey Frost; Chelsea Hunter; Kevin Loftus; James O'Donnell, with distinction; Vera Pastor; Melana Reed; Richard Vance; and David Young.
