The sophomore point guard averaged 18.5 points and six assists in leading the No. 3 Eagles to two wins over Top 10 Interscholastic Athletic Association of Maryland A Conference opponents. In Friday's night's 61-52 win over then-No. 7 St. Frances, Edwards scored 32 points and hit 20 of 23 free throws, including all six attempts in the final 2:30 of what was then a two-point game. She also had six assists, five rebounds and seven steals. In a 44-32 win over then-No. 6 Seton Keough, she had five points, six assists, nine steals and five rebounds. As a freshman, Edwards, 5 feet 6, was the key ball handler in the Eagles' run to the A Conference championship. This season, she averages 13.5 points, 3.6 assists and 5.5 steals. She plays for the Maryland Elite AAU team, has a 3.2 GPA and is drawing considerable attention from college coaches.
