Registration is open for the coed Elkridge Youth Organization spring soccer program for ages 4-18. Registration ends Feb. 28. No tryouts are required, and all players receive substantial playing time. Games are played at Rockburn Park. English conversation The Miller branch of the Howard County Public Library, 9421 Frederick Road, offers "Let's Get Together: English Conversation Club," a chance for those for whom English is a second language to practice speaking and understanding English in a group setting. Diet talk Nutritionist Rona Martiyan will discuss the proper way to stay healthy as you age at 12:30 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 16. Learn to eat the right foods for a healthy heart and sign up for an individual nutrition counseling session after the program. Call 410-313-1400 for appointments.

Concert The Howard County Arts Council presents the Fabulous 50+ Players at 1 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 24. Free.
