Harford's Christmas traditions

  • Started 22 years ago by employees of The Aegis, the Empty Stocking Fund has helped thousands of less fortunate Harford County children, families and senior citizens have a merrier Christmas through the collection of money and new toys provided by hundreds of residents, schools, businesses and organizations. This year the fund, which is run by volunteers, will help 364 families with 836 children and 120 seniors, providing gifts and food and other assistance over the holidays.

Over the years, many Christmas traditions have taken root in our community that are for the most part unique to Harford County.

Today and Friday, we take a look at 12 Harford Christmas Traditions in photos and reminisce about a few others that have sadly left us.
