CAA planning 'major announcement' on basketball tournament in Baltimore tomorrow

The Colonial Athletic Association is planning what it called a "major announcement" in Baltimore Wednesday regarding its postseason men's basketball tournament.

It had been reported previously that the CAA was interested in possibly moving the tournament away from Richmond, Va., where it has been held since 1990, and that Baltimore was on the list of potential sites.

The CAA sent out an email to coaches and administrators at its member schools Tuesday regarding the move, according to a coach who received it.

Rob Washburn, a spokesman for the CAA, declined to comment about the move when reached at league offices Tuesday in Richmond.
